Chilean soprano Yaritza Véliz was a member of Jette Parker Young Artist at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (2018-2020) and she was an inaugural "Renée Fleming Artist" at the Aspen Festival in 2021.
Her current and future engagements include her debut at the Glyndebourne Festival as Mimi in a new production of La bohéme, a role she will also sing at the National Theatre, Prague; her return to the ROH in a major role; her debut at the Komische Oper, Berlin; her debut in the USA in the title role of Handel's Rodelinda at the Aspen Festival; she will return to Municipal de Santiago, Chile in various major roles in the coming seasons and she makes her debut with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerische Runfunks and John Eliot Gardiner singing Tebaldo Don Carlos.
Yaritza joined the Young Artist Programme at the ROH in September 2018 and made her Royal Opera debut in the 2018/19 Season as Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro. In the 2019/20 Season she sang Papagena Die Zauberflöte; Jano Jenufa and Daniel Susanna.
In January 2020, Yaritza was awarded 3rd Prize at the Viñas Competition at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, she was also awarded the prize for French Opera and the prize from Teatro Real, Madrid.
In her native Chile, she has appeared at the Municipal de Santiago as Zerlina Don Giovanni; Clorinda La Cenerentola and Musetta La bohéme; for Teatro Municipal de Concepcíon as Pamina Die Zauberflöte; for Teatro Argentino de la Plata as Musetta and for Teatro Municipal de Las Condes as Luigia Castragatti Le convenienze ed inconvenienze teatrali.
