Italian/Colombian soprano Alexandra Zabala was a member of the Accademia Rossiniana in 2004, and sang Corinna Il viaggio a Reims at the Rossini Opera Festival, since then she has enjoyed a significant career in Italy.
This season she will appear as Violetta La Traviata for the Fondazione Petruzzelli, Bari; as Odette in the World Premiere of Sette Minuti by Battistelli for the Opéra National de Lorraine and in the title of Aida in a new production for Opera North conducted by Sir Richard Armstrong.
Among Alexandra’s recent engagements are the title role of Aida and Corinna Il viaggio a Reims for Teatro Coccia, Novara; Sofia I lombardi for the Teatro Regio, Torino; Micaela Carmen for the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele di Messina and Dama Macbeth for the Teatro Regio; Edinburgh International Festival and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
Further appearances include: Aspasia Mitridate at La Fenice and Teatro Malabran; Violetta in Malta; Contessa Le nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Merano as Cleopatra in the title role of Lauro Rossi’s opera of the same name at the Macerata Opera Festival.
